And it got me thinking... "how far do you want me to go when unmasking?"
When I'm on Chatroulette or Omegle I'll happily completely unmask for strangers but that's because I know I'll never see or speak to them ever again and they're not members of the masking community. But I've only ever unmasked all the way for a few select people in the masking community and those were under exceptional circumstances. So it got me curious whether it was me that didn't want to unmask or whether there was a kind of mutual acknowledgement amongst the masking community that it's something that we just never do.
Obviously there's wanting to keep anonymity but there's also the sense that the 'disguise' is a bit of a magic trick and revealing the person underneath is kinda showing how the trick was done, no?
Anyways, I'd love to hear your opinions in the comments below and your vote in the poll. I think I already know the answer to this but it'd be interesting for everyone to see the results I think.
